Vev Vigano has been making some of the best stovetop espresso makers for decades. They are another authentic Italian brand and know Italian Moka as well as anybody.
These Moka pots work very well and have a unique style that sets them apart from their main competitors.
Their entire product line consists of stainless steel pots rather than cheaper aluminum. This makes them more durable, keeps them easier to clean, and allows them to be used on any cooking surface, induction included.
Vev Vigano espresso pots are well regarded, receive top reviews, and have been found to be very durable over the years.
A Note on Color’s & Styles
As this is an Italian brand I should note that most models come in a few different styles notated by their color in Italian.
- Oro, which in Italian translates to Gold in English. This tends to be brass accents or plating found on their espresso makers.
- Inox, which loosely translates to stainless steel or metallic silver. This color pattern references the silver or chrome plating that can be found on trim.
- Nero, which translates into English as black. Again, this is a color scheme for the accents like handles and decorative bands on some moka pots.
You can see their top in-production models through the links below.
Vev Vigano Kontessa
The Kontessa moka pots are made in both Oro (Gold) and Inox (Stainless) styles. Each style can be found in sizes ranging from 2-cups to 12-cups.
All of Vev Vigano moka pots are made in Italy and they are all made predominantly of stainless steel with accented brass or chrome plated handles and trim.
The Kontessa Oro (Gold)
This comes in either 2-cup, 4-cup, 6-cup, and 12-cup sizes. There are no plastic parts on this moka pot.
It is made with a stainless steel body with gold accented handles.
The Kontessa Inox (Stainless Steel / Silver / Chrome)
This model is just like the Kontessa Gold. The only difference is that the stainless steel handle is not gold plated but is rather silver plated.
Vev Vigano Vespress
The Vaspress is another stainless steel moka pot by Vev Vigano that comes in a few different colors and sizes. The pot is structured just like you would expect and designed to be pretty sleek.
Sizes for the Vaspress moka pots include 2-cup, 4-cup, 6-cup, and 12-cup models.
The Vespress Inox
The Vespresso Inox is trimmed in stainless steel or “silver” plating. See on Amazon Here.
The Vespress Oro
The Vespresso Oro is exactly the same as the Inox but the trim and handle is plated in gold (brass) giving it a different stylized look. See it on Amazon Here.
Vev Vigano Carioca
Just like the other espresso makers in the Vev Vigano line this one also is made from stainless steel. In fact all parts of the unit right down to the filter basket are 18/10 stainless steel meaning no part of this coffee maker is made from aluminum.
The handle is different from other models in that it is not metal. Instead it is made from a heat resistant plastic that doesn’t get nearly as hot as metal would. This of course is great in the kitchen but if you take it camping where your heat source might be fire the plastic is always a risk for melting.
Last point of difference is the flared pouring spout which makes it easy to pour this from any angle.
The Carioca Nero
This is one of the best sellers in the Vev Vigano lineup. It is a sturdy model that will hold up over time because of its strong 18/10 Stainless steel body.
You don’t have to worry about the handle heating up because it’s made of plastic and pouring your coffee is easy because the lip allows you to pour your coffee in many different directions depending on how you are holding it.
You can get one in either 3-cup or 6-cup varieties.
